How Long Do Dogs Live? Everything You Need to Know About Canine Longevity.

Sometimes when I'm laying on my bed about to sleep, my mind is filled with doubt, and questions of all kinds, but last night was incredible, because my little puppy was jumping in my mind, and I wondered, how long can we be together?

Perhaps the question is trivial, but we will not lie to ourselves, there is always a latent doubt, and today I have decided to create this post to inform you about the life expectancy of dogs. So that you forget the question and start enjoying your days with your fluffy puppy.

Well, first of all, you have to know that the life expectancy of dogs can vary from one breed to another and that their average years range from 8 to 20. The Important point, small dogs tend to live longer than large breeds.

Large dogs such as the German shepherd, boxer, golden retriever, and even the Labrador, have a life expectancy of 8 to 12 years, while giant breeds such as the Mastiff or the Great Dane have a reduced life expectancy of 6 to 12 years.

Longevity in canines depends on certain factors, such as the breed, the size of the dog, the weight, the care, and the food they receive.

In general, large mammalian species have a longer life expectancy than small species, however, this fact is contradicted by what occurs within breeds of the same species. There is evidence that within the species, the largest individuals have a much shorter life expectancy, and this is clearly reflected in the canine species.

But don't worry, as Einstein said, time is relative, so let's stretch out as long as possible with our furry friends and enjoy every day of our lives together.
